Bronwyn Melville TCM, P.

After completing an English degree, I spent a year traveling and working before attending the International College of TCM in Vancouver. I completed the program in 2002. Since then I have worked in a variety of capacities. Firstly, I have a general practice with the Westside Midwives at Jericho Village where I treat a wide spectrum of conditions from pregnancy to allergies, eczema, anxiety, and fertility. I also have a second practice at Total Therapy in Burnaby where I focus on sports medicine, injuries and pain. My career has spanned various other settings as well. For five years I had a contract with the Portland Hotel Society in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver where I treated various conditions including addiction, injury, HIV and mental illness. I also have a position with the Vancouver Coastal Health team of acupuncturists treating addiction in many facilities throughout Vancouver. And, finally, at BC Women’s hospital I worked on a study performing acupuncture on chemically dependant pregnant women. Each setting, each client, each treatment has informed my clinical style and with every new experience my practice flourishes and my knowledge base grows. In addition to acupuncture, I also practice Crani0-Sacral therapy for which I have been trained through the Upledger Institute. Typically I combine the cranial work with acupuncture in the same session.

As a TCM practitioner communication is the glue that holds my clinical relationships together. No two clients are alike and I look forward to knowing what aspects of the medicine work best for you.

Maintaining order rather than correcting disorder is the ultimate principle of wisdom. To cure a disease after it has appeared is like digging a well when one already feels thirsty.
